time and half pay

hi i have worked for the same company for about eight years now and in the past they have payed time and half for working good friday after working goofd friday my manager has told me it's up to the company wether they pay me or not can they do that? just so i know for the next bank holiday. thanks

It's certainly up to the company whether they pay extra or not. Whether they can change their previous custom without notice is the only point of doubt.

dzug, thanks for reply i will be asking about it on tuesday it seems a bit mean, again thanks
this should be written into the terms of employment which you should have received when you started at the company. the company cannot change these terms without prior notification but equally, their terms may have said that bank holiday working would be at normal rate however they have paid above that rate in the past as a means to entice you to stay with them. Ask them for a copy of the Terms of Employment as it will state clearly on this.
