I admit I go for the screwed up approach!

However, thinking about it logically, you need to lay them flat so the bit you sleep on is face down and then fold the bits that go round the sides of the bed in so you are left with a rectangle the size of your bed. Then proceed to fold this and it should look flat and lovely.

Seems a lot of faff though!
That's how I (try to) fold mine (just as Pigletion has described) but they still seem to look a mess! Only thing for it is to get someone to help out.
mine look theyve been screwed up too. they are a pain to fold
mine end up kind of rolled.. who cares? life's too short!
My mother-out-law has this down to a right old knack.. and won't share her secrets!! mine end up rolled up to Sara!!
I ♥ hippyhoppy
no problem - just have the one - wash it - dry it - put it back on the bed....
Ahh bless you Sara...
Excellent suggestion Craft!
There are lots of 'how to fold fitted sheets' videos on YouTube...haha, I can't believe I looked. I just go for the half folded, half rolled up method, shove 'em in the cupboard quickly & slam the door shut! (Yes, they do often unroll & fall out the next time I open it).
I cannot believe there is a thread on folding fitted sheets - and even worse that I've joined in.......
I just bundle the thing, life is too short, tried folding once and it still had 'bumps' in it which is worse than crumpled lol
lol @ craft
Throughout my married life the chore I have disliked most has been the folding of sheets and duvet covers. My wife is of the old school whereby if an item should be uncreased it WILL be uncreased!! The old school also precluded the use of mechanical help.I am the help and the procedure goes like this. A person at each end of the item. Taking the corners in hand you then pull against the other end with gusto, during this act you also move your arms out as far as the item will allow, all of course with great effort as you're meant to be "shaking" out the creases etc., at this stage I was usually collapsing with laughter and somehow we would get distracted !! After wards we would repeat our actions and then keeping the "victim" taut we would put corner to corner, pulling all the time. When the sheet or whatever was folded lengthways my wife would then roll it up keeping it very tight. We then usually celebrated!!( it was a rare occasion if we did more than a couple of Roll-ups in a session).
Grab the inside of two oposite corners (not diagonaly) and bring them together so they fit itno each other. Do the same with the other corners. Lay them straight and fold over until the desired size is reached.

Failing that screw them up and put them in the cupbard.
I peg mine on the line by the 4 corners, then before I unpeg them I grab the 2 ends hanging down (ie: middle of sheet) bring together, unpeg and fold. If it's raining by then they get shoved in the basket, lol.
I dont bother, I take them out the tumble dryer and put them straight back on the bed
pips1 that is ingenious, never thought of using the line. You live and learn!
Maybe we just do it differently here in the U.S., but it's a fairly simple proces, but probably difficult to explain... but I'll give it a try.

Pick up the uncooperative sheet and select one of the "pocket" corners. Place your doubled fist inside of this "pocket. Next, find it's opposite and place the sheet covered fist inside that "pocket" corner. Next, do the same thing with the previously free hand. You should now be standing with two sheet covered fists with two pockets covering each. Place one fist inside the pockets of the other and remove that hand. You'll now have a semi-rectangle with one corner consisting of all pockets and the other three corners with no pockets. Lay the sheet down and simply arrange into a more symmetrical rectangle and fold into desired size. Simple and clear, no? Well, for those of you who are direction taking challenged... look at this:

That video clip was helpful but he should try it with his two cats helping out.

I roll them up, open the cupboard door and throw them in.

I saw that there was also a video clip on how to fold a bra. I had never given that any previous thought. Mine hang on the clothes horse/cat climbing frame until I wan to wear it.
