Hi

I have a couple of uPVC doors and these are secured on closing by a number of brass fixings about 2 inches in length which are affixed to the frame round the door. These fixings are attached by means of a normal screw.Over time the screws are becoming looser and the screw holes are enlarging, making the fixing loose and preventing the doors from closing. I would like to now if there is any method of filling the holes so that the screws can be refitted properly.

I don't think you can fill the holes as most uPVC fittings are hollow. It sounds like the door hinges were attatched to the door frame using self-tapping screws, which would seem inappropriate for such a load. You could try using larger self-tapping screws, which will give a little more 'grip' than smaller screws, but for you might need to add a few extra hinges, to spread the load. Or, you could use a special bolt that fits inside the hollow part, a bit like the screws you can get for plasterboard, but for uPVC.
