I have no idea where to put this - but here goes. I have a silver pendant that I wear most of the time, does anyone have some reliable ways of keeping the chain from tarnishing ?? I've tried soap and warm water, and while this helps a bit, it's not that great. I'm careful when putting on perfume, but realise perspiration etc would have an effect on it also.

any help much appreciated

thanks grannie39 - next question may sound silly but what is 'fairy liquid' ? bearing in mind that it may not be available here in Oz
Fairy liquid is washing up liquid over here.
I wouldnt suggest it by the way, Most jewellers sell little cloths impregnated with some sort of cleaner...all you do is rub the chain and pendant with it. Keeps it nice and shiny.

I thought that might be the case with the fairy liquid - thanks 20SilkCut, that sounds like a good idea, will check out the jewellers.
You can buy silver cleaner in supermarkets. I got some in either Asda or Tesco. You can get cloths or a dip.
Make up a solution using aluminium foil in a cup with
salt and pour on hot water.
Put silver in solution and agitate until clean.
