My mother has one of these in her electric fire (ie for the fake flames!!)

It is a spiral 11w with a small screw fitment. I don't seem to be able to get these anywhere - all the ones I can find (Asda B&Q etc) all have large screw fitments.

My question is : Why a spiral?? Would an ordinary 11w bulb shaped EnSav bulb do. I am assuming its a spiral for a reason - but is it essential for ths purpose?

Thanking you in advance

If it's an 11 watt low energy lamp then they are all the same, the spiral ones do look good tho. If you want a spiral one then go to a good electrical wholesaler and they can get them for you but I will say that it might be more expensive to get a spiral one as they might have to order one in special...

Brilliant - so as long as I get an 11w bulb (and the bulb's shape fits the area) - it doesn't matter on the shape.

Brilliant

Thanks a lot
