My original microwave has always been used with 15 amp plug. I wish to purchase a convection oven with microwave and grill which is 900watts and grill is 1100w .Can I still run this in the same socket with 15 amp plug .Thanks

15 Amps is a pretty good sized circuit protector, but take a look at the amperage requirement of your proposed new appliance (it'll be listed on the manufacturer's tag) and also consider if there are any other devices on the same circuit...

sorry I meant to say 13 amp.

Thanks for replies I have checked all through in the argos book and there is nothing to say about amps. Page 646 400/6529. I was hoping to run it on the 13 amp socket as I want it in same place as the old one.

Thanks for replies.
900 + 1100 = 2000 watts, divide 2000 by 230volts and you get the current, 8.7 amps....
