Our 4 year old oil fired boiler needs a service and we have been told that the granite worktop that it is housed underneath, has to be dismantled to allow access. I can't believe that no one alerted us to this fact when the kitchen was built. The kithen fitter has since gone out of business. Does anyone know if we have to go through the expense and upheaval of having the worktop smashed to allow access??

its ipossible for anyone else to say - ask the engineer (person who is going to carry out the service) if she can get to everything she needs without moving the worktop. if she cant then you have the choice to either not have it done, or move the worktop
