Your choice. I prefer satin as my colour scheme is quite subdued and pastel.

If you want it very shiny, go for gloss
if it's white, I think gloss starts losing its colour after a year or so and goes cream; satin seems to stay white longer
We prefer a satin finish.

Also, as jno says, gloss can 'yellow' in time, wheras satin seems to stay 'white'.

Have fun decorating!
Traditional gloss paints are solvent-based and silks, also known as satin finishes are water based. Gloss paint is more hard wearing and will last longer. Its best to prime your doors first as not all solvent based gloss paints that you buy from DIY shops are ready to use without using a primer first.

Its your choice but i would gloss them.
One more thing...The key really is in the preping. Rub the doors right down, prime them, 2 x undercoat and one time gloss.

Putting it on so that it flows nicely without being too thick or so thin you can see thru it.
I can Guarantee to anybody and I mean anybody that done correctly it will work. Good brands applied in the right way will last for years and years. Any Decorator (like myself) who reads this will agree with what ive said.
