How much does a chimney sweep cost?

Anybody used a chimney sweep recently? How much did you pay?

Also if anyone knows of any good chimney sweeps in the Nottingham area please let me know.

im in brum and we had to call out a chimney sweep last week before we could install a new gas fire for a customer, he only charged �40 which is a bargain !

I last had one just over 2 years ago (have since moved) - he charged �35 quid and did both chimneys and repaired the seal on the log burner.

Alternatively, you could buy your own chimney brush and rods for about the same price (rods �25.99, brush �6.19), then next year when you come to do it it'll be free! Screwfix sell them.

yeah but be aware of your not careful you could fill your whole room with soot !

Free....... if you send ur 5y nephew up the chimney. Have been here 30y & used fire every winter & never had chimney cleaned.....spose may suffer soon?

My mother used to send a couple of pages of the Sunday Post up her chimney every so often - she said that it cleaned the chimney.

We had the fire brigade around every so often too.
