I have dropped some bits of sooty candle wick onto my light coloured carpet and it has made a black mark. Is there a foolproof way to get this mark out?

A fairly hot iron on some kitchen tissue will absorb the wax and a stain remover spray to remove the mark should do it.

Thank you shylock73 - there isn't any wax - just the stain from the burnt wick - I will give it a go with a stain buster.
