Hi

i have recently seperated from my husband and was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice on how to get a mortgage put into a single name? Is it possible to do this if you have a good track record of paying the mortgage, but your annual income is not enough for the mortgage company to give you the full amount (if I was starting out on my own?).

I dont know if alreay having a mortgage affects how mortgage lenders evaluate your ability to meet payments etc.

Any advice most welcome!!
thanks

Firstly your husband will have to agree.

Then you must persuade your lender that you can comfortably afford the repayments.

Your husband's name will have to come off the Registered Title, and if there is equity in the property he will be entitled to half of it, so you may have to buy him out.
