i've an old pewter tankard.

its wuite tarnished.

whats the best way to clean it?

Don't use silver polish. It will make it even worse. You could try Fairy Liquid and a nylon type scrubbing pad.

you NEVER use washing up liquid on your com-PEWTER!

Certainly the easiest way to clean it is to get someone else to do it for you.
