My partner joint owns an apartment with his ex. His ex can not afford to take on the mortgage, he can but at a struggle. At present he has moved out but is still paying the mortgage while she is paying the bills etc. Is it best for them to try and sell the property or rent it out at the moment? In the long term the property will need to be got rid of as I do not want to live in it. HELP!!!! Also, is there a way of easily removing one of their names off the mortgage? x

The only way name can be removed from the mortgage is with the mortgage company's consent - they will need to the satisfied the other can afford the mortgage on their own.

Sell. You don't want to live in it, everyone is struggling with it - so sell.
