we bought a lovely fireplace about six months ago. It has a lovely black granite back and hearth. Trouble is, whatever i clean it with, it goes streaky. It looks ok, then later in the day, i can see streaks on it. I've tried all kinds if cleaning products. Is there something especially for this? Also where the back and the hearth meet, there is a definate white join. It's driving me mad. Do you think I could paint it black to conceal it a bit more? I would appreciate any advice - it cost a fortune and yet it's doing my head in!

I use spray furniture polish on my black granite hearth.
I agree with jean. Any streaks on wood, marble, granite etc especially when you've been decorating and emulsion or polyfilla etc has got onto them, just wipe away with furniture polish.
