Do Sweet Peas have to be grown from seed now, or can they be bought as little plants. Do the have to have a climbing frame to flourish?

Sweet peas grown from seed should ideally be sown in March/April. You can plant the seeds directly into the ground, but it's too late for this year.
The snails & slugs got mine this year so I've replaced them with sweetpea plants I bought cheaply from a car boot sale.
They do need something to climb up. Some years I use a cane wigwam and some years I grow them up against a fence which has a piece of fine netting hung from it.
They look & smell gorgeous and provide masses of cut flowers.
I have bought baby plants that hang rather than climb. Hoping for a nice dangly display of blooms from my hanging wall baskets. I put a granular feed thing (looks like birdseed) in the baskets as they can't spread their roots into the soil.
Sweet peas require plenty of water and feed with Miracle Grow, also, the more you pick `em` the more you get. They grow well if you make a wigwam with tall canes and tie netting around it to form a `cage`. Put plants just inside of canes and when about 1ft high attach to canes with soft string. Don`t let dry out.
