why would anyone write off a debt if the debtor has the means to pay them? (i.e. sell the house) presumably your friend bought things on his credit card, and had the benefit of them/ Why on earth should the debt just be written off cause he dosent want to pay it?
My advice to him would be to sell the house and pay off the debts, and then he will feel much better!
it completely astonishes me that some peple think they can get away with stuff like this!
