yeah the sunlight will fade it, ithe colour is only a dye
Yes -- especially if it's close to a window. The sunlight ( when we get any, that is ) will cause it to fade.
Dittto, you can get dye and restore it.
A leather cream, balsam, or dressing may help to restore some of the colour loss. If leather is in the sun part of the colour loss is due to the loss of the natural oils from the leather, this is what keeps the leather flexible & prevents it cracking so oil is one of the ingredients put into comercial products for looking after your leather furniture.
Or try a coloured shoe cream or polish. Watch out though if it's not exactly the same you may end up doing the whole suite! lol.
Also, the colour may come off on your clothes if you don't polish it off properly.
Leather will always fade to a certain extent. The rate of this will depend on the type of leather you have. If you have an aniline style it will be more susceptible to fading than a pigment coated leather.
Both can be fixed by a qualified technican.
Please do not attempt to do this yourself without seeking expert advice as using the wrong product may make it unfixable.
