I think they are just different brand names for a similar product - an acrylic polymer with minerals. I understand Corian to be the more expensive product of the two.
There are many similar synthetic worktops going under different trade names, but most of them use the acrylic resin polymethyl methacrylate with a mineral filler, usually aluminium trihydrate, (derived from bauxite, which is aluminium ore). Colour (and a couple of other additives) finally make up the material. These are what Getacore admits to using.
The Corian-type materials were invented by DuPont, who use the same resin as above, but who won't say what their filler is. It's likely to be just the same stuff as the others use.
They a similar product, corian has been around a lot longer but getacore is a very good product with a good range of colours and various under-mount sinks and slashbacks etc. But it has got a down side it is easy to scratch so opt for a matt finish rather than going for a high gloss as the scatches will show more.
I do so that just different brand names for a similar product. I understand Corian to be the more expensive product then getacore.
