A friend told me about a type of flower arranging where you glue the pages of a book into a sort of vase shape. You can then arrange silk flowers in it. Anyone know what this is called?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum - it doesn't seem to fit anywhere!

Maybe your friend means origami or decoupage?
Just Googled - is this the sort of thing you mean?

Thanks for the answers, but I don't think anyone of them look right. She said some of the inside pages are glued together and you arrange the flowers in there, but it still looks like a book propped up. She really wants to know what it is called and I am curious to see what it looks like too!
I think I may have found what you are looking for. There is an art form called Altered Books, which involves taking an ordinary hardback book, gluing pages together, cutting niches into the thickness of the pages etc and rubber stamping, decoupaging or painting etc onto the pages. The books normally have a theme and are done on a round robin basis within a group. I Googled this and came up with this link which I think is what you mean. I haven't seen one done so can't give any more info than what is given on the link. I have altered several books though :)
