I clean my windows for myself, no need for a window cleaner.
Sozzie meant to be once a month, but alas waited 8 weeks for someone to do them, well sort of!,did some of them myself due to my windows being mega dirty, to be told by the guy that came around that the person that should have done them had got mixed up and cleaned some other lucky peeps windows!!!!

Once a fortnight and they are brilliant ! 2.50 to do all the front windows (largish house with big windows, both upstairs and downstairs) plus the glazed front door. They will happily come back later (or a week later) for their money and have been known to help out some of my elderly neighbours with a bit of shopping and diy ! Every so often I get them to do the rear of the house (but as that is away from the sun, the trees and the road traffic, it doesn't need doing very often).
Every month - I don't think they really need doing more than that do they?
lol @ cleversod. I somehow knew it would get down to gutter level.
When the windows have that opaque look - about once every 2 months. Can't believe tht anyone out there has a window cleaner every 2 weeks! Made of money or what???
Windows? Clean? er . . . does not compute!

Does that mean that I'm meant to be able to see out of them?
(I think I've wiped a cloth over the ground floor windows about once in the past 5 years. The upstairs windows haven't been touched for nearly 15 years)

Chris

I was married to a window cleaner for 12 years and had to clean my own windows, he said he didnt bring his work home with him...

so I never answered the phone!
genuine answer here, as its a bone of contention! our window cleaner comes once a month without fail, charges 14 a time - and don't even go up a ladder anymore, just puts a 'squiggish' thing on the end of a stick to reach the top windows, which I think is all about 'health and safety' - window cleaners can't apparently go up ladders anymore! trouble is I don't want to go up the ladder and do it either but I thougt that was what we were paying him for???

Once a month, climbs ladders, picks up bits and bobs that end up in the gutter pipes and charges 7 for the lot. Its a team of three. The chap that runs the team is lovely. Hes young and it pleases me when he brings his 3 year old daughter around in the evenings to collect his payment. Theyre always so happy. Im also pleased to see young people carve a niche of employment for themselves. He, his wife, and daughter have even come to church every now and then. Really lovely people and an asset to our community.

He even kindly did some complex and intricate cleaning of some stained glass last year for us and wouldnt take tuppence for it!

Oh, and Im shocked to hear about someone paying 14. In all honesty, Ive always felt we should be charged 14-20 due to height and size. But he charges everyone the same. (and hopefully makes it up in volume!)

Were very fortunate!
