Hi all, I have several children's toys and books and garden furniture and fitness equipment for sale but despite the ridiculous low prices of them I can't sell them! Do any of you have any ideas as to how I could? I really am not asking for much for these things ie garden table, 6 chairs, parosol and patio heater all for 50! I have tried e bay and free ads but no success

i suppose its just that these things are pretty cheap to buy new. i personally wouldnt buy second hand toys either. If you really want rid, try freecycle.org
I agree with bednobs, Freecycle is great I have got rid of loads of stuff and acquired some useful items too.
sell them separately - people may not want all of it.

also pick realistic prices for second hand goods 50 is too much for that lot - unless they are especially good ones.
i got rid of a load of stuff to the charity shops a well worth cause
I think 50 quid sounds very reasonable myself!!!

joko how can you say 50 is too much for all that garden furniture? the table and chairs cost us 300, the patio heater 170 to say thats a saving of 420 just because they are 2nd hand doesn't sound too much to me!!! shadow man I am glad you agree
Indeed tiggy wiggy. Asked me a few months back and I would have ripped your arm off!!!
Take the lot to your local car boot sale, we got rid of loads of unwanted household stuff just before we moved and made over 250 in an afternoon
I think people are drawing in their belts a little at the moment because of increasingly high mortgage rates. I have also been unable to sell a number of surplus items. Do any of your local shops, newsagents or supermarkets have Customer Notice Boards? If so, you could try those outlets. Also putting up a big poster listing the For Sale items on your front gate.

Can I just turn up to a car boot sale with the stuff then? I didn't know you could do that if you weren't selling it there yourself. Mind you it would be pretty hard with the patio heater!!
Find out where your local car boot sale is, (town or borough council usualy run them), book a table, or tables perhaps 10, turn up early that morning, as we were unpacking we were mobbed by traders who offered us a "lump sum" for stuff they wanted to sell themselves, so if you hold off the real punters will offer more
Be prepared to haggle
hi,im new to this site and im interested in your garden furniture,if you still have it for sale?
