I have heard that Coca-Cola contains a phosphoric acid ideal for lifting stains from clothes. Is this true?

It is true that Coke contains the acid and that it does dissolve grease etc. I sometimes use a drop to loosen rusty nails as it eats away the rust. However, even if the acid in the Coke gets rid of the stain, won't the colouring, caffeine, etc in the drink just leave you with another stain to deal with?
