Strawberry pots into growbags ??

A well known supplier of strawberries reccommends putting strawberry plants into plastic pots of compost - but then putting that plastic pot with plant into a growbag (?!?) - I don't get it? Say 3 plastic potted plants to the grow bag. Surely the plastic pot would make the surrounding grow bag redundant. The pot gives more control to amounts of water/feed of course. They say it makes the plant grow stronger when the pot is placed in the grow bag. Has anyone grown strawberries by this plant pot in the grow bag method - and does it make any worthwhile difference?
Thanks for any answer.

I would not reccomend it. They will dry out too quickly. I have tried this with Tomatoes and it does not work.
