I have bought the following cooker hood from B&Q: 60cm Glass Chimney Hood HDG60SS Stainless Steel

The instructions that came with the unit is not easy to follow and it seems that it is a generic document.

The instructions state that the unit is to be fitting to the wall by mounting on x2 wall screws. The unit weight is 22kg, is this correct?

Also, the chimney hood has also x2 screws and is to be fitted to the wall via a wall bracket, again is this correct? Has anyone out there had any problems fitting this cooker hood?

Thanks in Advance

A friend and I fitted the same one in my kitchen this last month. You are obviously worried about the weight but the fitments supplied were sufficient. If in doubt you can always go through the back plate of the extractor unit and fit a couple of extra screws. They won't show.
I agree that the instructions are not very clear and the diagrams aren't wonderful but it all fits OK.
You need to fit the extractor fan unit first and then, if I remember correctly, the curved glass is fitted with a sort of 'allan key' screw/bolt.
Trying to interpret the distances to drill the holes for the chimney wall bracket (onto which the hood is then screwed)took us a couple of goes but we got there in the end.
Certainly all bits were with mine. In fact I didn't need the extended portion of the hood as I don't have the height to use it.
In case it is not clear the bracket has 2 small outward sides with ready punched holes, and it is onto these sides that the chimney is screwd with the 2 screws(one each side. Don't forget that the bottom of the chimney sits on top of the extractor unit inside the curved glass hood.

Thanks for the feedback, i am now much happier to install the cooker hood, now knowing that the weight is okay for the two screws and that you don't need to use both chimney hoods. I shall now attempt the installation, fingers crossed.

Many Thanks
