i have a fig tree and the roots appear to be getting very close to my house foundation. what do i need to do

As far as I know, in close proximity to buildings fig trees are deliberately planted with an inbuilt confinement of their roots, such as planting them in a tub. If the tree is still of a manageable size you might consider potting it up.
