Wasn't sure which board to put this on. Why do clothes that have been hung out on the line in the winter months have such a lovely fresh smell, but don't in the summer and what is the smell?

I always thought they smelt nicer in the summer
I prefer the winter smell its so much fresher!!
I like the winter smell and I love the fact although dry they iron so much better in the winter - they get too dry in the summer however hard you try to time it just right.
I would think maybe in the summer more people are out having bbq's or might me to do with the temp of the air holding smells?
