Rent!

Ai live on my own in a 2 bed very large maisonnette. I was thinking of maybe renting out a room as I am totally skint, but don't know what to charge. The room is about 15 x 15 foot and would have big desk, bookshelves, bed and separate wardrobe just outside the room. Rent would be inclusive of bills. The house would cost �550 -ish to rent as a whole and would cost �140,000 to buy.
Any ideas? I am in Dorset.

Think about where you live. I live close to a very large hospital, and some of my neighbours rent a room out Monday to Friday to the hospital staff for around �60 per week.

Best thing is to get the local paper and see what other people in your area charge.

Are you sure it would cost �550 a month to rent as a whole?
I used to pay �500 for a one bedroom flat in Dorset and it was a really scummy flat as well (and it was only �500 because I negotiated with the landlord and he subsequently forgot to increase the rent!)

Yeah sadly that is all it would get! It is in a not so desirable area of dorset, so the rental prices are less than if it was somewhere posher.
