I have a glow worm back boiler with a very ugly fire that I would like to remove. Does anyone know if I can just remove and blank off the fire with a vent rather than go to the expense of replacing both the fire & boiler? thanks

You could remove the fire but this has to be done by a CORGI man. But then you would be left with an even uglier hole there that you will not be able to blank off vent or no vent it would be far too dangerous and would be condemed.
Have you checked out the latest fires you can get for back boilers they have come on a bit from the old big clumsey ones of yesteryear.
