Brand new LEC tall fridge. When compressor running a low howling noise is proving to be very annoying. LEC say it is probably due to different coolant now being used which replaced the old CFC type. Due to heat generation I know that "smothering" is not an option. Any ideas on this?

Hi e.farnhill,

I don't believe that story, I think that they are fobbing you off.

Our fridge runs on the "New Gas" and is as quiet as a house mouse. My daughter has recently purchased a new fridge & freezer and they are both quiet.

Regards

Drew
New fridges are notoriously noisy for the first few weeks. They basically need a running-in period as the compressor and motor bed in.

I would say that it's quite normal.
