How do I get my clothes to still smell freshly washed ? When i hang my washing out indoors on clothes horses etc, they get a good airing and once dry they get folded up and put away or hung in my wardrobe. But when i come to wear them they seem to always smell 'stale' and 'fusty' - especially knitwear - why is this ? I use arial and comfort to wash my clothes and they smell gorgeous while they are drying but once i come to wear them they stink - i make sure they are not damp when i put them away but its driving me nuts.

Is it something to do with where you hang and store them .Is the wardrobe damp perhaps where it's placed in front of an outside wall. You can get sachets of stuff to put in wardrobes to draw out any moisture .I forget what they are called now but am sure someone will be along who knows.Or ....try hanging lavender bags in the wardrobe.

no my house is not damp - i place most of my washing in drawers but its the same....it still gets fusty....
Well ....that's very strange !!
I would try the lavender bags or how about some scented lining paper for the drawers .
Do you always dry indoors ? I prefer to dry outside and then air off or tumble dry indoors. But I only use the dryer for towels and underwear.
Have you tried putting tumble dryer sheets in your drawers? If not try 'Bounce' sheets, they smel nice and keep their fragrance for weeks, they're also made out of a fabric that drawers in moisture. Hopefully that should keep the musty smell away! Good luck!
use febreeze or place them gel airfreshners in your wardrobe
