I'm wanting to turf my lawn - have I left it too late in the year to do this?

No, now is fine unless you live in an extremely cold, frosty area.
We have laid turf in October before & it looked lush by the next spring/summer. Good luck.

thanks. I'll get moving on that one then!
Had mine done 2 weeks ago, Booldawg, and the gardener told me that he's laid turf as late as November before and it still flourishes!
Agree with all the other's, but be sure to water the new turf regularly... everyday for the first few weeks is best. At least a full inch every three or four days is best...
Clanad's quite right, it must be watered every day for the first few weeks - although you may have to do this after dark, otherwise you may get a nosey neighbour reporting you to the Water Board!!!!!

(Depending on where you live of course)!
