I know this sounds wierd, but i have got a strange noise coming from one of the arms in my leather settee, the only way i can describe it is like something is eating its way out of the wood trim, sometimes it is like a scraping sound and sometimes like a crunching sound, but it can be quite loud, the company i bought it off took the settee back and said they could only find a loose bolt, and it was probably that, but having got it back it is still doing it.
any ideas what it could be, or who to contact to investigate further. thanks in advance.

Does the noise sound when someone is sitting on it, or is it constant. Just trying to pin it down.
Could it be movement of the wooden frame inside. Wood can expand and contract with changes of temperature. Or maybe its a giant woodworm that lives inside your sofa!
I had woodworm in a chair and at night you could really hear it crunching away, it was horrible and I chucked the chair.
Could it be a mouse ?? Or mousy babies?? Sorry to worry you but its possible.
Being leather it could simply be the leather moving. Seems to depend a lot, but for example our old dentist had expensive leather chairs and they would make the most bizare sounds when you moved on them. Even when you got off quite often the leather would make rather odd noises for a little while.

definately not a mouse as there are no holes in the underside of the sofa where it could have got in, not only when you sit on the sofa, sometimes if i come down in the middle of the night it is really loud, i have 2 x two seaters and the noise only comes from one of the arms, so i don,t think it is the wooden frame moving, or the leathern moving either,
also i now live on my own so have moved the sofa to where
it will hardly be used and it is still as bad all the time, very very baffling !!!
