Doors in Portugal

I have just returned from a holiday in the Algarve and nearly all the old doors have handles on them that are shaped like human hands, with the wrist being the hindged part so they almost act like a knocker too. Can anyone tell me where I can buy these from?Either new or salvaged, I searched in vein to find any sort of local ironmongery while in Portugal that might have sold them. I've looked on ebay but couldn't find anything (perhaps I'm typing in the wrong search criteria). Thanks

Not sure although I saw some like this in Chania in Crete. I think they hold some sort of supersticion. Not a bad one I don't think. They are lovely though. Good luck! Sorry I couldn't help.
