Ubdercoat when glossing

if you dont have any undercoat before glossing would matt emulsion do instead or should I just get off my lazy @rse and buy some undercoat?

I know that undercoat and emulsion are both water based but I think that undercoat is specially formulated so that gloss will adhere better. If I were you I'd get off yer backside and do the job properly!! Invest in a all-in-one primer & undercoat to save time. If you do the job properly from the offset then it means your gloss is less likely to chip/peel and you won't have to paint again in 6 months time.

NO DEAR - BE .LAZY - i have always used emulsion and never had any probs at all - its cheaper and if its already there - then hey? why not - but on a serious note - i can assure you that it works just as well -
