I'm looking to buy some freestanding bedroom furniture - big wardrobes (up to 4 door, at least one being full length mirror),a chest of drawers and 2 bedside units, preferrably in beech. Can anyone suggest where I can get this sort of thing at a reasonable price but without them being too cheapy and flimsy?

Also do these types of items always have to come flat packed or can you ever buy ready assembled? And does anyone know an appoximate cost for hiring a joiner to build flat packed wardrobes? Thanks.

Best place is to visit your local auction rooms.

You only need a cheap handyman to assemble flat packs not an expensive joiner or carpenter.
You can definately buy them ready assembled in some places although they do cost more.
