I've been looking for a new seat for my 'modern' loo. It's not your 'bog-standard' (!) shape, it's a longer oval shape rather than the traditional. B&Q told me they could get them but they were about 50 !!! Bit pricey for a loo seat I thought. There are so many of these new shape toilets about, there must be someone out there who has replace theirs. Thanks in anticipation.

Aldi had some a week or two ago, and our local branch still has a couple left. Can't promise they'd be suitable or even available, but who knows?
have you looked on ebay?
is your loo a 'back to the wall' type ie meaning there is no visible cistern, if so I have just looked at a bathroom brochure I have here (just in the process of refitting new bathroom) and there is one in there for 63 so B & Q price seems pretty good, however I would go into your local Plumbers Merchants and ask them if they can get you one cheaper than B & Q.
If you are a keen DIYer,make one using a jig-saw and a spokeshave. Use fittings off an old seat.
You should be able to buy wood and tools for a lot less than 50.
Good Luck!
Who is the seat manufactured by? Try their website.
We have a non standard seat in our bathroom, I used cheaper seats but the fittings ended up breaking as I guess the pressure was in the wrong place when our bums were seated! I did eventually give in a get the proper seat, it has been there for about 5 years now and still going strong
