I have an open plan garden which I'm not allowed to put permanent fencing or hedging on. Is there any type of temporary fence I could use? Thanks.

The only solution I can suggest is some plants which grow very quickly during the summer season. I don't know whether Bamboo would count as hedging. It possibly does. Try Googling Tall summer plants, or quick growing plants and see if it comes up with any possibilities.
Put a row of individual shrubs round your garden, if these grow into a hedge they are still classed as individual shrubs!

Easy.
