Hi there you gurus or all things homely

I have one of these washers and it is brilliant; only thing is, it threw an error this morning which shows as C3 in the digital display. I have sorted a C2 before but not a 3. I have downloaded the manual, but it says for all errors other than C1 and C2, contact a service engineer, but also , they only had manuals for the updated model, not the non-updated one. My washer is about 8 years old.

so, anyone know what this error is before I call out a jolly engineer? I would be pleased to find out esp if I could fix it myself.
