My washing machin has started to squeak irratically when on a cycle - does anyone know what the cause may be and how to stop it?

ours used to, after a week or so it stopped

mine done the same to i had the engineer out and he greased the bearing it never happened again

We had a similar problem and it turned out to be 3 (yes, 3) of those metal inserts from the cups of bras which had come out and gone through the holes in the drum!

could be limescale mine does the same if I dont put water softner in with washing powder .try giving a it a hot wash without clothes in with 2 cups of soda ,if it is limescale that should shift it good luck
