The feeling you get whilst smoking is to do with the nervous system. Nicotine is a chemical which has the ability to mimic the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and causes a prolongued stimulation of the nerve endings, which creates an immediate feeling of relaxation. This kind of answers the question i suppose?
