I don't know about a steam cleaner, but we have a leather suite and were advised to clean it with a damp cloth using pure soap flakes. It works fine.
The inside of a banana skin cleans leather shoes a treat.
I just use baby wipes with my suite!
If you use a steam cleaner you are quite likely to remove some of the dye..either use saddle soap or pure soap flakes ..and just have the water warm with the soap flakes in..then dry it off with a dry cloth..

Hi everyone

Thanks for that. My problem is I have a Cream ( or was cream ! ) leather suite, it's about 5 years old now and starting to show its age. I have used many different methods to clean it, and yes, wipes were best, but 3 kids a dog and a cat have all left their mark on it, It's not stained just looking very tired now.
