i need to order a new bit for my horses how do i measure the existing bit to find the correct size pls thanks

Measure the piece in between the two rings i.e. the inside measurement, without adding the rings. If you imagine the bit in the horses mouth, the rings will turn back towards the horse when you put pressure on the reins, so the size is just the 'bar' across the mouth.
