I'm about to fit a beech laminate floor in our hallway. I've heard it can be quite tricky, especially if you don't get off to a perfect start. Any tips?

Yep - i've just laid a laminate floor in my kitchen (half price sale!). It's easy as long as you have the correct tools.... a jigsaw is essential and it definitely pays to buy the special toolkit that can be bought with it. Use the spacers in the toolkit to ensure you have a 10mm gap where the flooring meets the walls.. otherwise it will expand and buckle. Finally, don't be tempted to move on to the next section if the previous one didn't fit properly... if that won't fit, none of the following ones will either! Good luck!
