After having the bathroom tiled, I later found out that the tiler had washed tile grout down the sink and the bath. When water is washed down the plug there is alot of 'bubbling' and there is a definate smell at times coming up the plug holes. I'm not sure if there's a solution. Any suggestions?

Try using a brick cleaning liquid from a builders merchant, usually comes in 5 litre can. Just tip it down the trap to replace the water already there, the water will foam and disolve the grout, when the foaming has stopped , flush and replace the liquid until the foaming has stopped.

The liquid will not harm plastics, but beware using on stainless steel. This mixture is a weak form of a commercial acid
It may just be in the s bend of the trap -try unscrewing this and giving it a rinse round first, that may help. (don't do what I did once and rinse it out in the same sink I had just removed it from.... doh)

Thanks for the advice. I bought some brick cleaning liquid and hoped for the best. It certainly foamed as you promised it would. Haven't smelt anything nasty in the last 24 hours so think it might have worked. Thanks for the tip.
