unfavourable weather conditions can often cause veg to bolt but also you need to stop hoeing as the lettue etc begin to mature otherwise they seem to go into seed production mode.

As to leak attacks, you could try growing some aromatic plants ie marigolds between the rows that might be disagreeable to the grubs adult, or perhaps deris dust may help rid the pest ?

Question Author

Thanks Logman...used derris dust but need to have several applications. may try marigolds.
