snow drops ?

My snow drops have been up for a week now,but are still tight in bud.

Anyone have any open yet ?

I would suggest it depends where you are in the country - the south and south east being more mild than other areas of the country, and the location of the bulbs in the garden. I'm in Staffordshire with a shady garden and my snowdrops are only showing about an inch out of the ground. They'll be a while yet.

I'm in Brighton and i've only just noticed them coming through the ground !!!!!!

Good point plocket, but dont forget about the "golf stream" that rus up from the tip of cornwall through to the tip of inverness, bringing warm air to the western coast of the UK..

Mine were planted in tubs this year on the advice of the gardeners on this site ;-)

They are about an inch above the soil... definitely wonky, not straight. I wonder why?

Saw mine open today (20th Jan) for the first time. I am in the south.

hi logman, I'm in Derbyshire & most of my snowdrops are just about to open hopefully. I have a clump of a later variety near the bottom of the garden (double flowers, very pretty) which have yet to put in an appearance - I hope they're still in there & haven't been dug up by the squirrel. I see he's been aerating the lawn again today!

Yes Robinia, mine look like their just about to open any day now. Todays sunshine seems to have worked wonders (herts area). The most advanced clump is a very old one, which i spit and devided last year and it seems to have given it a new lease of life..
