I need to buy a new electric oven. Do I have to have the same make as the hob, or can I mix and match? Also can anyone recommend a cheap reliable make please.

If you mean built in units which are seperately mounted as the oven in a wall unit and the hob in a worktop then just ''mix and match'', there is no technical reason to keep the same make.
