The plant has been green and very healthy for about a year, however, all of a sudden the leaves turning yellow/brown and falling off. The plant is about 6ft and now only has about 12 leaves and looks very sorry for itself. Can I bring it back to life?

Some of the obvious questions.....

As it is a water loving tree, have you allowed it to dry out ?
They are native to central America.....in the tropics so are you giving it the light and humidity it needs and
Are you feeding it ?

Don't forget, these trees come from regions where they get 12 hours day and 12 hours night. A sudden increase/decrease in daylngth can often cause leaf drop.
Or, it could be just going through a natural "moult"

I have been watering it weekly and adding baby bio occasionally. Could it be because it is only getting about 7 hours of daylight (if you can call it daylight in winter!). Do you think it will come back to life once the nights get lighter?
