As it is the end of the growing season, we are clearing out our vegetable plot and our sheep are watching us longingly as we dig up all the greenery. I know that runner beans contain lectin and variants and, for humans, need to be cooked thoroughly but what about sheep? Can we allow them to eat the bean hulme with/without any end-of-year remnants of the bean crop? (given the number of beans v the number of sheep, I cannot see one animal gorging themselves to the detriment of the others and eating ALL the beans) I'm sure that in the past we have 'allowed' them to have this treat but we need to be sure and I cannot find anything online that says that we can or cannot do so.
