Ideal Eden 2 Boiler wont fire up

Hi everything seems to work on my boiler but it wont fire up. Does anyone know of this problem? It has been like it for a day now

May seem obvious, but have you run out of oil (or had it nicked). Or if it's recently run dry, you will need to bleed it. How can you tell that everything seems to work on your boiler if it's not firing up?

thanks for your reply, its my dads boiler, runs on the mains gas, the boiler starts up but doesnt 'spark' and light... ?? if that makes sense, we have someone coming round to look at it tomorrow so all should be well!
